Frequently Asked Questions
What is a fractional CFO?
A fractional CFO is a senior financial executive who works with your organisation on a part-time or project basis. You get the expertise of a full-time CFO — strategic financial leadership, board reporting, compliance oversight — at a fraction of the cost.
How is VCFO+ different from a bookkeeper or accountant?
A bookkeeper records transactions. An accountant prepares financial statements and tax returns. A fractional CFO does all of that at a strategic level — advising your board, developing financial strategy, managing risk, and ensuring your organisation's long-term financial sustainability.
Do you only work with NFPs?
Yes. VCFO+ exclusively serves Australian not-for-profit organisations — charities, schools, aged care providers, religious bodies, and associations. We don't serve commercial businesses, which means our expertise is entirely focused on your sector.
What does ACNC compliance involve?
ACNC compliance includes lodging Annual Information Statements, meeting governance standards, maintaining your charity's registration, and ensuring your DGR endorsement is current. We manage all of this on your behalf.
How much does a fractional CFO cost?
Our fees depend on the size of your organisation and the services you need. We offer flexible engagement models — from a few hours per month for small charities to near full-time support for larger organisations. Book a free briefing to discuss pricing.
Do you work with organisations outside NSW?
Yes. While we're based in Beverly Hills NSW, we work with NFPs across Australia. Most of our work can be done remotely, and we're happy to travel for board meetings and key engagements.
